Graphic Art Shodo--June 7,2007

Sensei introduced new material, glue( from gelatine) today.First ladies drew patterns on the post cards and washi paperswith this liquid glue. Then write letters and draw pictures with sumi ink on it. As sumi ink doesn't go into the glue patterns, the results are quite interesting . Finish with colouring and stamps.

Shodo--May 28, 2007

It's not so easy at first to write new radicals of kanjis with a brush. Ladies know that after steady lessons characterictics of each kanji of their works are getting clearer more and more.

Graphic Art Shodo--May 24,2007

Today ladies carved several lovely stamps which are good for greeting cards. As rubber is soft, you have to be very careful for handleing the tools to leave fine lines. But you see, ladeis are quite successful.

shodo--may14,2007

Ladies concentrated on practicing new kanjis while their children had a nice time playing together. All works are so tasteful.

Cooking -- May 11, 2007

Today's menu was same as Monday's group. Though dried small fish "chirimenjako" are not popular among foreigners because of the eyes, we toasted with pine nuts in a pan and mixed with lettuce, cucumbers, wakame, tofu, and original Japanesedressing. Yummy!

To make original things is a quite fun. Ladies were enthusiastic for chosing best match color papers and arranging them on a shikishi(=a square of heavy decorated paper). When we bleech in a shape of a real leaf, we could get good results using firm leaf which the veins stand out. Pictures show you attractive pieces.

Graphic Art Shodo-12th of April, 2007

It's an interesting experience to write and draw something on papers and cloths using bleech solution . First the ladies practiced kanji with ink as usual. Then using bleech solution and a nylon brush, they wrote kanji on an origami and arranged it on a shikishi with other colour origamis which bleeched in rubber patterns and shapes of real leaves. The ladies challenged on T-shirts and an apron, too.

Today's menu was tempura, akadashi miso soup, and asazuke(lightly-pickledvegetables). Deep-fried a variety of vegetables and seafood, even conger eels. The most enjoyable part of cooking is eating. Dipping tempura in delicious sauce with grated radish and ginger --- yes, it was yummy!
